The medical sector is very demanding, above all as to the use of medical equipment. This kind of equipment, daily in contact with human biological tissues and/or chemical substances, shall be continuously sanitised/decontaminated. This process shall be carried out in case of transfer from one hospital to another, in case of exhibitions, fairs, congresses, or before being destined elsewhere (disposal, refurbishment, etc…).
The stringent safety regulations and the always higher sensitivity of operators (suppliers and employees of their suppliers) have brought authorities to intensify controls and therefore to a more requested discipline.
MITSafetrans has identified the problem and offers a specific and innovative solution:
MIT BIO-LAB, the first sanitisation and decontamination laboratory totally integrated in its medical logistics supply chain.
The integrated logistic service offered allows managing the equipment in all its handling processes, including ADR transport for potentially bio-contaminated equipment, before being sanitised.
MIT BIO-Lab is a vanguard sanitisation laboratory, conceived according to strict regulations governing all needed authorisations (standard set by ISPESL – Institute for the Prevention of Accidents in the Workplace-, ASL –Local Health Districts -, VVF – Fire Brigade-, and Municipality standards)
the method used by the laboratory is acknowledged by hospitals and certified:
- H2O2-based (hydrogen peroxide= - 99M, Bioquell.
- ad-hoc method according to the customers’ protocols
At the end of the sanitisation, MITSafetrans issues a Certification acknowledging the sanitisation/decontamination.
The entire process is carried out according to specific steps and always executed by qualified and trained personnel.
The consequent advantages are evident:
- guarantee of a complete service
- costs optimisation
- time optimisation
- full compliance with applicable regulations
